Map of modern Czech history

The aim of the project is to create and continuously update an interactive map of modern Czech history depicting the time period of 1919–1990. The map application will consist of layers that the user will be able to open at once or successively – to name a few, Events of 1918, Riots in the Sudetenland 1919, the Annexation of the Sudetenland 1938, the Holocaust, UK Air Strikes on the Protectorate, USSR Air Strikes on the Protectorate, Gestapo Stations and Nazi Execution Sites, Combat Operations of 1945, the Expulsion of Germans 1945, Communist Concentration Camps, [Warsaw Pact Invasion] August 1968, November 1989. The user will be able to click on most of the points on the map to uncover extra information in addition to the location of the event. In 2022, the material for certain layers (Expulsion of Germans 1945, Annexation of the Sudetenland 1938, Nazi and Protectorate Camps, UK Air Strikes on the Protectorate, Communist Concentration Camps) was prepared. The research team has begun working on the development of the mobile map application.
